Many Americans follow the latest lifestyle trends, including clothing, beauty and footwear styles, home décor, landscaping or motor vehicles, but how many consider good health an important fashion statement?
As new directions of the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as health care reform, are implemented during the next few years, a key focus will be on personal wellness, involving incentives and programs to encourage individuals to pursue healthier lifestyles.
According to wellness expert Dr. Andrew Weil of the University of Arizona College of Medicine, Americans need to recognize the impact that lifestyle choices have on their health, such as decisions related to nutrition, rest, sleep, stress management and physical activity.
In an interview with Employee Benefit News, Dr. Weil outlines the steps employers should take to encourage employees to make good health an important fashion statement.
