A New Way to Remove Plaque?

Emmi-dent is the latest oral health tool that removes plaque from your teeth without traditional brushing. Simply hold the bristles on your teeth and Emmi-dent does the work!

Here’s how it works. The Emmi-dent looks like a regular electronic toothbrush with a head full of bristles. But underneath the bristles is a microchip that transmits ultrasonic impulses to your teeth. When using special Emmi-dent nonabrasive toothpaste on the bristles, millions of tiny nanobubbles form and collapse on tooth surfaces, attacking and killing the bacterium that leads to plaque formation in the first place.

While the Emmi-dent may be the latest in oral care technology, there are many others styles of manual and electronic toothbrushes available. The important thing is to choose one that fits your mouth and preferences (ask your dentist for recommendations). Brush your teeth at least twice daily – after breakfast and before bedtime – to remove food particles and plaque. Rinse after brushing, and don’t forget to floss once daily.

Read about the latest in toothbrush technology in an L.A. Times article, “The latest toothbrush that’s not a toothbrush.” And for more information on the differences between toothbrush styles, review “Choosing a Toothbrush: The Pros and Cons of Electric and Disposable.”
